A simple resume cover letter that stands out is one that comes across honest with desire to learn. Regardless on how much experience you may have on the subject. There’s always room to grow and learn from others in the field. This I know can help anyone’s chances of being hired. The following three have helped my get to more interviews than anything else.

To keep it as simple a resume cover letter as possible, I don’t go over one page. I know at times we have many points we want to put on the page but consider the amount the reader has to read. You don’t want to be the one who wrote a book and the reader just passed it up because it looked like a task just to get through the cover letter. The following step I know helped me cut down my cover letter size and make them go to the resume.

Here’s what I did to make them read my resume. Lets say I’m talking about past team experience on projects. I would say something like “as you’ll notice on the projects section of my resume, I worked on the XYZ program and several others that had great success. They’re all pointed out on that section for your review.” This way I would give them something to turn the page for. Otherwise, the reader might think there’s nothing new to read on the resume. Many people tend to repeat what’s on the cover letter and the resume. Don’t do that and keep it a simple resume cover letter.

The third would be a question. Where does exaggeration become a lie? Remember we started with the point of being honest on our letter. I know how sometimes I was tempted to exaggerate my letter to the point where it had parts that weren’t exactly truths. I don’t recommend lies on the cover letter. They can come back and bite you. Instead, I would focus on my desire to learn and my ability to pick things up quickly with minimal delays or loss of productivity. In cases where I was limited on experience or I wanted to make my letter a little more specific to the industry I would use my resume creator to clean up the language I used for more specific language to the field.

That’s what worked for me my simple resume cover letter, thought I don’t always get the interview it has been well received by the readers.

Here I will attempt to identify some of the technologies that will revolutionize our lives and our values in the coming years.

1. Quantum Computers
Unlike current PCs, quantum computers will have switches that can be in an on or off state simultaneously. The mechanism that will make this possible is known as superposition, and the switches are referred to as quantum bits. The system will make quantum computers operate very fast. A basic quantum computer is likely to be operational by 2020.

2. Programmable Matter
Scientists are in the midst of creating a substance that can take a specific shape to perform a specific task. The substance is known as claytronics, and it consists of catoms. Individual catoms are programmed to move in three dimensions and position themselves so that they assume different shapes. This technology is likely to have numerous applications ranging from medical use to 3D physical rendering. It may take around two decades to become a reality.

3. Terascale Computing
Techies are working on a project that would make our PCs able to contain tens to hundreds of parallel working cores. The device will have the capability to process huge amounts of information. To create this technology, Intel is exploring the possibility of using nanotechnology and allowing for billions of transistors.

4. Repliee Robots
Repliee is one of the most advanced life-like robots ever created. Repliee, an android, is covered with a substance which is very similar to human skin. Sensors placed inside the robot control its movements and enable it to respond to its environment. Astonishingly, the robot can flutter its eyelids and replicate breathing. Repliee operates best in a static condition.

5. Organic Computers
To further advance the computing realm, techies need to create a hybrid CPU that is silicon based but contains organic parts as well. The most promising progress in information processing concerns a neurochip that places organic neurons onto a network of silicon or other materials. Future computers will be able to bridge the silicon and organic spheres to utilize processors that incorporate both of these elements.

6. “Spray-On” Nanocomputers
The “spray-on” nanocomputer would consist of particles that can be sprayed onto a patient. It would monitor the patient’s medical condition and communicate wirelessly to other machines.

7. Carrier Ethernet
Carrier Ethernet is a business service/access technology. It can serve as a transport method for both business and residential service. Ethernet will dominate the metro space in the future and will slowly displace SONET/SDH over the next 10 to 20 years.

I’ve heard all the excuses. Hell, I’ve made them. You know that job is sucking your soul and it’s time to leave. The only thing left to decide is how.

Above all, you want it to be your decision. Don’t let boredom and apathy lead to an attitude that gets you fired or passed over. Who wants to work with a burnout no matter how skilled they are?

The number one reason people stay in bad jobs is fear of the unknown. Are you hanging on to something that doesn’t fit just because it’s familiar? What if the unknown wasn’t scary? What if it was filled with joy and delightful possibilities? Sure, there’s that transition period where you leave what you can do in your sleep and head into new territory. I assure you that the downhill slide of staying too long is far greater than the steepness of a little learning curve. How might you make unknown territory more comfortable?

1. Make It Known
Learn about it. Do research. Talk to people. Do informational interviews. Volunteer, be a trainee. Find ways to educate yourself. Go to school. Hire a trainer. Shine some light on the stuff the scary ignorance and it’s no big deal. If you’re drawn to it you probably have a knack.

2. Make It Up
There are a lot of successful people in the world who just decide that they know what they’re doing. I’ll never forget my friend Susan, a beautiful and confident woman who discovered her gift for public speaking in Toastmaster’s and went on to become a highly paid consultant just because she decided she was worth listening to. I had just finished grad school and was trying to get my nerve up to go pitch companies. She read a book or two, made a presentation, and was suddenly crossing the country getting big fees. There’s a lot to be said for chutzpah.

3. Try It On A Small Scale
Part-time or pilot projects work well particularly if you’re thinking of venturing out on your own. The hours are long when you don’t give up your day job but if you’re pursuing your passion you generally can find the energy. Cater a friend’s party for the cost of the supplies. Print some business cards on your computer. Do some pro bono work for a civic group for the testimonials. Before long you’ll feel ready to go for it.

4. Dive In
This is my favorite. I get enormous energy from leaping off metaphorical cliffs. Instead of screaming “NO”, try saying “Wheee!” or “Geronimo.” I’ve crossed the country on three occasions with no job and no place to live. I keep having soft, successful landings so I keep leaping. Sometimes it takes a geographic change to get yourself out of a rut. Try something out there and see if you can fly.

5. Be Prepared
So maybe you’re not a leaper. You can plan for contingencies, save that nest egg. Find an answer for all the what-ifs. But be careful not to over prepare. Just how likely are those eventualities that you’re covering? There comes a point when it’s time to take steps.
